Purple Polish

I've been looking for a dark plum/purple polish for a while now. And saw that Bourjois just came out with one.

Bourjois So Laque! # 35 Violine chic

I'm not sure if I like this one... I do like the result, but the colour came out more like a bordeaux red on my nails. In the bottle it looks more purple...

It also is very sheer. I needed to apply 3 layers to get the colour I wanted... And I only applied the 3th layer becouse after a few hours, some of my nails already chipped!

Here some pictures of the polish in 1, 2 and 3 layers.

I really didn't expect all theese malfunctions becouse the other Bourjois polish I have actually is relly pigmented, and stays on perfect for days! (blog post about that one here).

NOTD - Perfectly Neutral

A quick Nails Of The Day post!

Neutral nail polishes are my favorite! Colours that you dont really notice, but give you a healthy, sophisticated look.

A while ago i run out of polish inspiration, so slaped on this Bourjous polish. Thinking - yeah lightpink... whatever...  But i really loved how it looked and been wearing it again and again!

Bourjois effet faux ongles #52 Rose precieux

It sais "effet faux ongles" (false nail effect), and I guess it lives up to that promise becouse when I was wearing it, a friend asked if those where my real nails!

The pale peachy pink fits my fair skintone realy nicely. It actually makes my skin look a bit tanned! (Yay!) It does have some gold flecks in there - which looks so pretty in the bottle but only bearly show up on your nails..

It also sais "Lasts up to 8 days" which it doesnt realy do.. more like 5 without any base or topcoat, which I find pretty good anyway! :)

Testing the Buffer! Results

So here are the results from the test I did with the nail buffer in this post.

Buffing your nails befor polishing is supposed to make the polish look better, and last longer.
So I buffed the nails on one hand and compared both hands after a week of polish wearing.

As you can see on the pictures, it kinda worked!
After a week the nails on my unbuffed hand looked awefull!! The nails I buffed did not stay chipfree but did look alot better.
I even noticed that the nails on the unbuffed hand broke off a lot more!

so overall worth buying a nailbuffer for!

oh, and by the way...
check out my dessert!
Jealous?? :)

Testing the Buffer! For longer lasting nailpolish!

A while ago I watched a video by TiffanyD on YouTube, about making your manicure last longer. Her tip was to use a nail buffer that makes your nails shiny, befor applying nailpolish!

It smooths out the surface of your nails, what makes the polish grip better?? I don't really know how it works but it made her nailpolish stay on much longer!

My polish always chips sooo fast so I went on the hunt for a nail buffer and found this one:

Impulss Matt & Smooth Surface

This one is specialy made to use befor applying false nails or polish. It doesnt make your nails shiny, but makes the surface matt to make the polish grip ever better (??)

I wanted to test if this really makes your polish last longer. So I buffed the nails on one hand, and left the other unbuffed.
You can see a clear difference. All the ridges are buffed smooth and it left a matt finish.

Then I applied, like normal 2 layers of pink polish, and a topcoat.

products I used:
B'Box nailpolish in 134
Sally Hanson Doudle Duty base & topcoat
(only use it as basecoat with dark polish)

There is no big difference in how the polish looks with or without buffing, but on the buffed hand the polish was a lot easyer/smoother to apply. Becouse of that I think the buffed hand looks a bit better and less streaky!

Now I'm just gong to wear the polish for a few days and see if the buffed hand stays chipfree!

I'll post the results soon!
